Porting OpenVPN to Windows CE Platform
Ešner, Oldřich ; Ráb, Jaroslav (referee) ; Ryšavý, Ondřej (advisor)
The motivation for inception of this MSc. thesis which follows on from a term project of the same name was the transfer of the application for building private virtual OpenVPN networks from Windows XP operating system to Windows CE Embedded 6.0 platform. The project deals with virtual private networks in general and looks more closely at its implementation - OpenVPN. It also introduces the basic features of the Windows CE operating system. The project goes on to describe device drivers in NT-based Windows operating systems, the Windows Driver Model used, the NDIS network interface model and also the model of Windows CE drivers - the Stream Interface Model. The project continues with a~description of communication in OpenVPN application and primarily the role of TUN/TAP virtual network interfaces. This is followed by a proposal for transfer of TUN/TAP adapter drivers together with a description of limitations and necessary modifications between both platforms. As a result a TAP network device driver is implemented whose function is verified by test application that emulates the behaviour of a TUN adapter. The project concludes with an evaluation of the achieved results, the possibilities for further work on this theme and with the overall contribution of this project.
Integration of auxiliary modules into automated functional test system
Hřebíček, Zdeněk ; Macháček, Jiří (referee) ; Svoboda, Radomír (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis was gain of theoretical background in the field of embedded device testing especially when using test modules, to understand the structure of Modbus and Enviracom protocols, architecture of system for automated testing ATAB and use that knowledge for programing drivers for test modules NTC Simulator and EnviraCOM Serial Adapter in C# language.
Visual Language of Controllers and Communicators of Czechoslovak Machine Tools in 1947-1990
Fridrichová, Eva ; Hulák, Jiří (referee) ; Jelenčík, Branislav (referee) ; Rajlich, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the development of graphical symbols on the control panels of machine tools made by Czech factories TOS from the years 1947–1990. The aim is description genesis graphics controllers and communicators of machine tools and their inclusion in the context of the development of graphic design. As well as determine the influence of design in area of operational graphics. This area has not yet been subjected to closer examination and in terms of consistency of the historical aspects of the Czech graphic is benefit to the future.
Virtualization of I/O Operations in Computer Networks
Remeš, Jan ; Martínek, Tomáš (referee) ; Matoušek, Denis (advisor)
This work deals with virtualization of computer systems and network cards in high-speed computer networks, and describes implementation of the SR-IOV virtualization technology support in the COMBO network card platform. Various approaches towards network card virtualization are compared, and the benefits of the SR-IOV technology for high performance applications are described. The work gives overview of the COMBO platform and describes design and implementation of the SR-IOV technology support for the COMBO platform. The work concludes with measurement and analysis of the implemented technology performance in virtual machines. The result of this work is the COMBO cards' support for the SR-IOV technology, which makes it possible to use them in virtual machines with wire-speed performance preserved. This allows future COMBO cards to be used as accelerators in the networks utilizing the Network Function Virtualization.
Design of operator workplace of machining center
Kříž, Jan ; Pavlík, Jan (referee) ; Novotný, Tomáš (advisor)
The presented work contains the parameters and rules relevant for the design of the inter- face between the machining center and it's operator. All of information were obtained by search in scientific literature and technical standards and subsequently were sorted according to the elements to which they relate. The work contains the actual anthropometric dimensions, description of the interface elements with references to standards which relate to them. The study also shows an example of an optimized keyboard layout for machine tools and methods applicable to design the spatial layout of the workplace. In conclusion there is evaluate the state of currently available literature and technical standards.
Implementation of drivers for wireless sensor unit
František, Milan ; Šimek, Milan (referee) ; Botta, Miroslav (advisor)
This work is concerned with the use of digital and analog sensors with wireless unit IRIS. There is a basic description of the software stack BitCloud, including important functions with a used sensor types and used buses. In the work is described procedure for creating drivers for the various sensors and their implementation in a stack BitCloud. In conclusion of this work is a practical example of right implementing of the individual drivers.
Design of Network Applications for a NetCOPE Platform
Hank, Andrej ; Kořenek, Jan (referee) ; Martínek, Tomáš (advisor)
Monitoring and security in multigigabit networks with speeds 1 - 100 Gb/s needs hardware acceleration. NetCOPE platform for rapid development of network applications uses hardware acceleration card with FPGA technology by means of hardware/software codesign. Increas in performance of platform's software part is dependent of parallel processing in applications to take advantage of utilising more processor cores. This thesis analyses NetCOPE platform architecture and possibilities of parallelising classic network applications and creates models of concurrent access to data in NetCOPE platform to utilize more processor cores. These models are subsequently implemented as extensions to platform's Linux system drivers. Userspace libraries are created to provide simple interface for applications to use these new features. To achieve high throughput of this solution several optimizations are performed. Results are measured by created testing tools.
